Masood says that despite Azam's Test omission, he is a 'world-class player' who has 'a lot to offer'

Pakistan batsman Shan Masood said that he's 'nobody to say Babar Azam doesn't have a future' in Test cricket, following the latter's omission from the side for the upcoming series against England.

Azam, who is Pakistan's captain in all three formats, was dropped from the Test squad for the three-match series, which begins on December 1.

Masood, who is likely to open the batting in Azam's absence, said that he understands the decision, but he believes that Azam is still a valuable asset to the team.

"Babar is a world-class player," Masood said. "He's got a lot to offer, and I'm sure he'll come back stronger.

"I'm nobody to say he doesn't have a future," Masood added. "He's a great player, and I'm sure he'll prove himself again.
