FILIP STANKOVIĆ STOLAC
In 1997, Stanković joined the Fourth Independent Rifle Battalion of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO). He fought against the Croatian Army in the Battle of Mostar on the side of the Bosnian Croats. After the war, he became a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). In 2000, he was elected to the Croatian Parliament. Over the years, he held several ministerial positions in the Croatian government, including Minister of Defence, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Interior.
In 2019, Stanković was elected president of the Croatian Democratic Union. He has held this position ever since. Stanković is a controversial figure in Croatian politics. He is known for his strong nationalist views and his support for the rights of Bosnian Croats. He has also been accused of corruption.
