Jordan Whittington Sitting out again Sunday
Texas WR Jordan Whittington (ankle) to miss third consecutive game
Whittington, one of Texas' top targets, has missed the last two games with an ankle injury and will miss the upcoming game vs. Oklahoma State as well.
Texas WR Jordan Whittington will miss his third consecutive game this weekend when the Longhorns travel to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State. Whittington has been dealing with an ankle injury that has kept him out of the lineup since the Red River Rivalry game against Oklahoma on Oct. 8.
The junior receiver is one of Texas' top targets when healthy, but he has been limited to just four games this season. In those four games, Whittington has caught 21 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns. He missed the first three games of the season with a hip injury.
With Whittington out of the lineup, Texas will need other receivers to step up. Xavier Worthy and Troy Omeire are the Longhorns' leading receivers, but they will need more production from players like Ja'Tavion Sanders and Jaleel Skinner.
Texas is 4-2 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play entering this weekend's game against Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are 5-1 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play.
