K Greg Joseph (abdomen) out; Jude McAtamney could step in
Vikings kicker Greg Joseph to miss multiple games due to injury
Vikings kicker Greg Joseph will miss multiple games with an abdominal injury, coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday.
Joseph was injured in the Vikings' 24-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. He was replaced by punter Jordan Berry, who made both of his field goal attempts.
The Vikings signed kicker Jude McAtamney to the practice squad on Monday. McAtamney, 26, has played in 19 career games with the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams.
McAtamney expected to start in Joseph's absence
McAtamney is expected to start in Joseph's absence. He has made 78.9% of his field goal attempts in his career.
The Vikings are also expected to add another kicker to the roster this week. They have been linked to former Pro Bowl kicker Matt Bryant, who is a free agent.
Bryant could be a short-term option for the Vikings
Bryant, 47, is one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history. He has made 87.6% of his field goal attempts in his career.
Bryant could be a short-term option for the Vikings while Joseph recovers from his injury. The Vikings are hoping to have Joseph back in the lineup by the end of the season.
