Marco Baroni Set to Revamp Lazio Starting Lineup vs Cagliari
Lazio to Showcase Fresh Faces in Cagliari Clash
Lazio boss Marco Baroni is preparing to make wholesale changes to his starting lineup for the upcoming Serie A clash against Cagliari.
The Biancocelesti are coming off a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Atalanta and Baroni is eager to inject some fresh blood into the team in a bid to turn their fortunes around.
A number of players are in contention to make their first starts of the season, including goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, defender Wesley Hoedt, and midfielder Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro.
Tactical Tweaks Expected
Baroni is also expected to make some tactical tweaks, with a switch to a 3-5-2 formation on the cards.
This would see Ciro Immobile and Felipe Caicedo leading the line, supported by an attacking midfield trio of Luis Alberto, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Joaquin Correa.
The Biancocelesti will be hoping to get back to winning ways against a Cagliari side who have also endured a difficult start to the season.
Cagliari in Poor Form
The Rossoblu have lost their first two games of the campaign and are yet to score a goal.
New manager Leonardo Semplici will be looking for a response from his players, but Lazio will be confident of securing all three points at the Stadio Olimpico.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 CET on Sunday, August 29.
