Pakistan Test Skipper Shan Masood Praises Babar Azam, Calls Him "One Of The Best Batsmen In The World"
Shan Masood, Pakistan's Test captain, has hailed Babar Azam as one of the world's top batsmen.
Masood's comments came after Azam scored a century in Pakistan's first Test against New Zealand in Karachi.
Azam's hundred was his 25th in Test cricket, moving him past Younis Khan and into second place on Pakistan's all-time list. Only Javed Miandad has scored more Test centuries for Pakistan with 28.
Masood said Azam's achievement was a testament to his hard work and dedication.
"Babar is one of the best batsmen in the world," Masood said. "He has shown that in all formats of the game."
Masood also praised Azam's leadership skills.
"Babar is a natural leader," Masood said. "He leads by example and always puts the team first."
Azam has been in impressive form in recent months.
In addition to his Test century against New Zealand, he also scored a century in the ODI series against the Black Caps.
Azam is currently ranked number one in the ICC's ODI batting rankings and number two in the Test batting rankings.
