Rangers, Devils Brawl Last Night
What Happened?
A line brawl broke out between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils last night, resulting in several penalties and injuries.
The incident occurred late in the second period, when Devils forward Miles Wood hit Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba with a high elbow. Trouba retaliated by shoving Wood, and the two players quickly dropped their gloves and began fighting.
Several other players from both teams joined the brawl, and the officials had difficulty breaking it up. In total, 10 players received penalties, including five for fighting.
Who Was Injured?
Trouba suffered a cut to his face, while Wood was left with a bloody nose. Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere also appeared to suffer an injury, but he was able to remain in the game.
What's Next?
The NHL is expected to review the incident and hand out additional suspensions. The Rangers and Devils are scheduled to meet again on Friday night.
