Severe Weather in North Texas Leads to Flash Flooding
Torrential Rains Cause Damage and Disruption
Residents Urged to Take Precautions
Severe thunderstorms rolled through North Texas on Tuesday, bringing heavy rains that caused flash flooding in several areas. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the region, urging residents to seek higher ground and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
The storms hit hardest in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where several major highways were closed due to flooding. Cars were submerged in water, and some homes and businesses reported water damage. The flooding also caused power outages in some areas.
The National Weather Service reported that over 10 inches of rain fell in some parts of North Texas in a matter of hours. The heavy rains caused creeks and rivers to overflow, leading to the flash flooding.
Emergency crews are responding to the flooding and assisting residents. The Red Cross has set up shelters for people who have been displaced from their homes.
Residents are urged to take precautions during the severe weather. If you encounter flooding, turn around and find another route. Do not drive through flooded roadways, as even a small amount of water can cause your car to stall.
