Wendell Carter Jr. to Miss 'Multiple Weeks' After Strained Left Oblique
Magic Center Suffers Injury in Orlando's 113-93 Loss to Mavericks
Carter Averages 17.8 Points, 10.1 Rebounds, and 2.5 Assists per Game This Season
Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with a strained left oblique, the team announced on Saturday. Carter suffered the injury in the Magic's 113-93 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.
Carter has been a key player for the Magic this season, averaging 17.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He has started all 44 games for Orlando and is one of the team's leading scorers and rebounders.
The Magic are already without several key players due to injuries, including Markelle Fultz (toe), Jonathan Isaac (knee), and Mo Bamba (ankle). Carter's absence will be a significant blow to the team, which is currently 18-26 and in 13th place in the Eastern Conference.
No timetable has been set for Carter's return, but the Magic are hopeful that he will be back before the end of the regular season.
