Knicks' Cameron Payne: Doubtful Monday
Payne suffered a right foot sprain in Saturday's loss to the Pacers
MRI confirmed the sprain, but no structural damage was found
New York Knicks guard Cameron Payne is doubtful to play Monday against the Brooklyn Nets due to a right foot sprain, the team announced Sunday.
Payne suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 111-100 loss to the Indiana Pacers. He left the game and did not return.
An MRI confirmed the sprain, but no structural damage was found, according to the Knicks.
Payne is averaging 10.3 points and 3.4 assists per game this season.
The Knicks are already without starting point guard Elfrid Payton, who is out with a hamstring injury.
With Payne and Payton both out, the Knicks will likely start Frank Ntilikina at point guard against the Nets.
Ntilikina is averaging 5.9 points and 3.3 assists per game this season.
The Knicks are 1-4 this season without Payne in the lineup.
The Nets are 2-3 this season.
